Democracy and Human Rights in Latin America

Gabriel Boric Font 
President of the Republic of Chile

Director of the Institute for Latin American Studies
Professor of Political Science and International and Public Affairs

President Boric will discuss the threats to democracy in Latin America and the potential for coordinated regional responses to address those threats. He will examine the importance of human rights as the basis of justice and the need to foster policies that increase citizen welfare as crucial for democracy in the region.

Columbia University students are invited to participate in a moderated question and answer session.
