6 May 2024 – World Cities Summit (WCS) 2024 returns for its ninth edition from 2 to 4 June, at the Suntec Singapore Convention and Exhibition Centre. Held biennially in Singapore, the Summit convenes global government leaders, industry titans, thought leaders and academics to exchange knowledge and share insightful perspectives on addressing urban issues faced by cities around the world, to enhance liveability and quality of life in cities. 2 The World Cities Summit, jointly organised by Singapore’s Centre for Liveable Cities (CLC) and Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA), has seen the participation of over 250 cities globally since 2008.
In 2022, WCS hosted over 2,500 delegates from 56 countries and regions, including 72 Ministers, Mayors and city leaders. WCS 2024 Theme 3 The theme of WCS 2024, Liveable and Sustainable Cities: Rejuvenate, Reinvent, Reimagine, conveys the need for cities to rejuvenate, reinvent and reimagine to become smart, resilient and regenerative cities of the future. As our world faces climatic, financial and societal stresses, cities need to evolve and adapt, in order to continue thriving for residents now, and across generations

WCS 2024 will delve into the tools needed, the know-hows and the paradigm shifts required. 5 Delegates will engage with the theme across five thematic tracks: Cities for People, Resilient & Regenerative Cities, Smart Cities, Sustainable Financing of Cities and Future Cities. Each track comprises plenaries and in-depth discussion sessions, special convenings and roundtables, organised with strategic partners to foster a vibrant and varied discussion. 6 WCS 2024 also comprises key events such as the WCS Mayors Forum, WCS Young Leaders Symposium, the Lee Kuan Yew World Prize Award Ceremony and Banquet, and an exhibition where cities, corporates and others profile themselves through physical booths. Notable mentions within the exhibition area include the Singapore whole-of-government pavilion, booths by Lee Kuan Yew World City Prize laureate cities, as well as other booths by participating cities and corporations.
