1. The 2023 Goldman Environmental Prize Winner Announcement
The 2023 Goldman Prize winners were announced in April: Diane Wilson from the United States, Alessandra Korap Munduruku from Brazil, Chilekwa Mumba from Zambia, Tero Mustonen from Finland, Zafer Kizilkaya from Turkey, and Delima Silalahi from Indonesia.
2. The San Francisco Award Ceremony
Over 2,500 people gathered at the War Memorial Opera House in San Francisco to recognize the outstanding accomplishments of the Goldman Prize winners. The ceremony was hosted by Rue Mapp, founder of Outdoor Afro, and featured live entertainment from Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter Aloe Blacc. 3. The Washington, DC, Ceremony
Prize winners traveled to the East Coast for a ceremony at the renowned John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts. The Washington, DC, ceremony was hosted by Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Mary Jordan with special remarks by Speaker Emerita Nancy Pelosi.

With features in international and regional media, Prize winners shared their inspiring stories around the world. 5. Participation in Climate Events Around the World
Throughout the fall, 21 Goldman Prize winners attended climate summits around the world, joining global efforts to create faster and more meaningful change for our climate and planet. Prize winners traveled to Africa Climate Week, New York Climate Week, the IUCN Leaders Forum, Latin America and the Caribbean Climate Week, and Asia-Pacific Climate Week.
