Developed by the "Participation Community of Practice" of the Spanish Government, this guide compiles a series of tips on what to DO and what NOT to do in a participatory process, as described in a set of info sheets.

The guide provides 30 recommendations for concrete actions to take into account when designing a participatory process, such as assuming the promotion of the process as a duty of the organization, teaching participation, obtaining a political and technical commitment, and expressing gratitude for participation, among others.

It also details 20 things that should not be done in a participatory process, such as legitimizing a decision that has already been made, giving inadequate attention to the participants, using technical and legal language, pursuing a unidirectional process, or using a single channel for communication.
