From local community assemblies to a global civic assembly, it’s a scalable, deliberative process where everyone on Earth can take part in shaping informed decisions on climate, technology, and other urgent issues.
A governance model that evolves with the world
Our world is at a tipping point. The planet is breaking down, inequality is rising, and people everywhere are feeling the pain. Yet governments, tied to outdated systems, are failing to act in the interest of the majority.
- 65%* of people believe their country’s political system needs major reform – or a complete overhaul.
- Most people agree we need to increase citizens' influence in decision-making.

The political system isn’t working – that much is clear. But let’s not forget: People built this system, and we can build a new one. Indeed, we already are.
A new way forward
We need to step up. Together.
This isn’t just about reform – it’s about rewriting humanity’s story. By uniting local action with global impact, the Global Citizens’ Assembly is creating opportunities for every one of us
In a world where institutions often struggle to keep pace with rapid technological, environmental, and social changes, the Global Citizens’ Assembly offers a hopeful new model.
One where power is distributed, citizens have a direct voice, and solutions are co-created by people from all walks of life.
Redefining democracy for the 21st century
Our vision is to establish the Assembly as a legitimate, lasting, and influential institution. The Assembly’s organisers have followed The Institutional Architecture Lab’s (TIAL) four-phase framework for designing and establishing new institutions. They’ve also considered it in terms of three major threats facing humanity: climate change, AI and infectious disease.
