Mission:
We collaboratively develop, implement, and promote ways to improve democracy, from the local to the global level.
Vision:
We envision democracies that incorporate everyday people in major public decisions which our present structures struggle to address – through processes that are representative, deliberative, free from manipulation, informed, and influential.
With 95 organizational members and 94 individual members across 55 countries and six continents, involving over 300 people, Democracy R&D is the largest global network dedicated to deliberative democracy and democratic innovation.
For the first time, our conference will be held in the Global South, marking a major milestone for Democracy R&D and for the growing deliberative democracy community in Latin America.
The conference will be held in June 2027: a main event from 2–5 June in Bogotá, followed by a post‑conference gathering from 8–9 June in Brasília. We warmly congratulate Extituto and Delibera Brasil, and we also celebrate all member organizations that submitted proposals in this call: their quality makes us excited about future editions and a long‑term hosting strategy.
